Construction Details

The Rowfant, in common with the GT4x4, is based on a proprietry Four-Wheel drive chassis. In this case, we employ that from the trusty Suzuki SJ series. This provides a robust platform on which to build an individualistic vehicle.

In order for the donor Suzuki chassis to become the platform for your Rowfant, it requires to be modified at our works. This involves the relocation of the engine, approximately nine inches rearward, and the attachment of new superstructure, floor and bulkhead. The Rowfant can be built as either a two-seater or four-seater, although the latter version employs the relatively rare Suzuki Pick-up chassis. Chassis can either be sourcced by us, on your behalf, or your chassis can be delivered to us for modification.

The change from a tough utilitarian approach to a more traditional sports design has permitted a significant reduction in weight. Whilst our established construction methods remain, the use of round tubing and curved members allow curvaceous styling to be applied. This framework can be galvanised for an extremely long life expectancy.

Panelling the bodyframe, adding the lights and other accessories, trimming and wiring are all straightforward tasks. The end-use will determine the image required and subsequently the money spent. As our prototype will spend most of it's life bounding throught deep mud, trim and costs, were kept to a minimum. This is the car pictured at the top of the page.
